How to use the ChatGPT video checker
- Write the question the way a buyer would ask it. Not a keyword, a full question: “what is the best CRM for a 5-person sales team?” rather than “CRM software”.
- Run the check. We ask ChatGPT live and collect every YouTube video in its answer and its sources. It takes about 20 seconds.
- Read the list. Videos cited in the answer come first: these are the videos ChatGPT users actually see.
How ChatGPT picks YouTube videos
ChatGPT searches the web and picks a few sources to cite. It tends to cite whole videos rather than a precise moment, and it favors videos whose title and description clearly match the question.
Across AI engines, YouTube is cited far more than any other video platform, and the cited videos are rarely from big brands. They come from whoever explained the topic clearly first, which is why a B2B company with a small channel can show up next to much bigger competitors.
What to do with the results
- A competitor’s video is cited: the subject is worth a video. Watch it, note what it misses, and make the clearer, more specific version.
- A video is found but not cited: it is close. A sharper title and a direct answer in the first lines of the description often make the difference.
- No video at all: nobody owns the question yet. Publish first.
- Your own video is cited: keep it up to date and link to it from your site and docs.
Check the other AI engines
Each engine picks its sources differently, so a video cited by ChatGPT may be missing elsewhere. Run the same question on the other checkers below, or let RankTube ask all your buyer questions to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google every week and tell you which video to publish next.
